A forward and slick home that is situated in a beautiful spot on richmond hill. Spoilt with a view and a spacious outdoor area, not a common bragging right people have on the hills in Sumner. However, this bragging right was only achieved with an enormous amount of rock breaking and formwork. The team endured a long two months on site before the floors were able to be poured. From then on we could focus on what the majority of our team love the most… Building the house.

 

With only three of us at the time, we had a lot of work on our hands but managed to put together a pretty amazing house within six months. An effort our team could look back on and be proud of what we’d achieved. The living/dining area is what we have chosen to be the focal point of the house, due to its modern edge. An open plan kitchen that sits on a polished concrete floor, finished off with some great lighting features and a highly detailed splash-back. The space is also surrounded by a very wide soffit which helps with the amount of sun coming in, but also covering the concrete patio and automated louvre system. With the bedrooms and garage positioned all on the top level of the house, it seemed like the perfect layout for the family. The exterior of the house had many components to it that compensated one another nicely, with the house having bits of Canadian cedar, plaster and stone cladding thoughtfully placed around the house. All in all, our team couldn't be happier with how this build went.
