This home is located on the low lying part of Clifton Hill, facing Sumners iconic Cave Rock. We took on this job early last year, with our client wanting it to be restored and repaired. The house was designed by local and well regarded architect, Bruce Branbury and built nearly forty years ago. With the house already having a modern design to it, the work we had to attack was landscaping and retaining walls, along with a few cosmetic changes inside. Nathan and our client worked together closely discussing potential improvements to the house. This worked really well having an experienced builder sharing his knowledge with the client and helped her make her mind up on a lot of the additions she may want to add.

 

Once all of the retaining and EQC repairs were complete we were able to start on the cosmetics. With the cladding having seen better days, we tended to it by replacing rotten boards and giving the whole house three coats of a top quality stain. After the inside was relined and painted we laid down an oak flooring with a white wash finish and had all of the carpet replaced. This changed the whole dimension of the house giving it a much more homely feel. The end product of this house was quite amazing as just a small amount of work can bring a house like this back to life. Our clients were really pleased with the end result as were we here at NMC construction.
